Her stage debut was in 1990 with an Off-Broadway version of The Big Funk directed by John Patrick Shanley. The Perfect Tribute was her first role on TV one year later. Her breakthrough for her career was in the year 1992, when she acted as a support character in the film Basic Instinct. The Firm is where she began her career as the female lead in the film alongside Tom Cruise & Gene Hackman. Through the 1990s Gwyneth was a co-star with Hugh Grant on Mickey Blue Eyes and Julie Andrews for Relative Values. Recently, she was in the role of the character of Dr. Alex Blake in Criminal Minds.
